Beachcomber Basket
A simple basket with pretty textures that is great for holding all sorts of things! Fill it with yarn to store your latest crochet project, use it as a fruit basket in the kitchen, keep it in the bathroom to hold washcloths, or on your vanity table to organize make up!
It looks great with leather handles which are simple and easy to make or if you’d prefer a crocheted handle, that is included in the pattern as well!
Cordial is a very unique yarn which works up pretty stiff when using this gauge. Because of this, the basket is very sturdy and holds its shape well. If you’d like to substitute another yarn, I recommend working up a gauge swatch. If you can get the gauge with your chosen yarn and the swatch is nice and stiff, the yarn will work well for this pattern.
Supplies:
- Bulky yarn (approximately 180 yards)
- Size H (5mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- Yarn needle for finishing
- Leather Scraps (optional - for handles)
- (4) 3/4” studs or rivets (optional - for handles)
Finished Size: Approximately 9 inches in diameter and 5 inches tall.
Difficultly Level: Advanced Beginner
Stitches & Techniques used: ch, sc, dc, invisible join, back loops only
