Barbon
Based on traditional Yorkshire Dales gloves, this beret features ‘midge and fly’ patterning between swirling stripes.
SIZE
To fit 50(56:62)cm / 19½(22:24½)“ head circumference. The finished hat measures 44(50:56)cm / 17½(20:22½)” around at the brim.
YARN
Two contrasting colours of 4ply/fingering weight yarn with approximately 400 metres/436 yards per 100g. You will need 40(50:60)g of each colour.
The pictured hat was made with Ann Kingstone’s ‘Yorkshire Warmth 4ply/fingering’ in the Nowt (MC) and Thrang (CC) shades
NEEDLES
2.75mm/US 2 needle(s) for small and medium diameter circular knitting. Adjust needle size as necessary to achieve correct tension.
TENSION/GAUGE
32 sts and 40 rounds per 10cm/4” in stranded pattern after blocking.
