This is a modified version of the Teddy Bear motif from Barbara Walker’s 4th Treasury of Knitting Patterns.

The Baby Bear is set on a reverse stockinette background with a waved seed stitch border to prevent border “flipping”. The bib strap is adjustable.

If you have the original, you can see that I removed the “claws” and tapered the legs, modified the neck to cable in instead of decrease in, and I tapered the top of the head with cabled stitches.

Yarn: Any worsted weight cotton (non-mercerized) or linen yarn will create an absorbent bib
