Designed for the spring 2013 Knitaway® in the Studio, Arachne’s Bower is a rectangular stole worked in two sections, two directions, and with a choice of two yarn weights. A circular outer border surrounds and completes the shawl. The construction is a play on the traditional Shetland stole and incorporates two Shetland lace patterns, Leaf lace and a beautiful variation of Spider Web lace. Directions included for the lace-weight version (the model) and a sport-weight version. Lace-weight version gauge is 16 sts and 32 rows in 4 inches; Sport-weight version gauge is 12 sts and 24 rows in 4 inches.
