Hi, I’m Kristin Omdahl—designer, author, and maker. For over 20 years I’ve been designing knit and crochet patterns, teaching fiber arts, and sharing creativity with a global community. I’m the author of 22 craft books and the designer of nearly 1,000 published patterns, ranging from timeless shawls and garments to home décor and motif-based projects.
Beyond patterns, I love telling stories through yarn. My latest adventure, The Sea Glass Journal trilogy, blends fiction with handmade projects, recipes, and creative living. Alongside the novels, I design companion patterns and tutorials to bring the story world to life stitch by stitch.
I’ve taught on TV (PBS’s Knitting Daily TV, PBS’s Knit & Crochet Now!), hosted hundreds of online tutorials, and built a YouTube community where I share free patterns, stitch demos, and creative inspiration.
Through it all, my mission has stayed the same: to inspire makers to “Create Share Inspire.” Every pattern, book, and project I design celebrates the joy of making and the comfort of handmade.
