DESIGNER PORTRAIT – Karoline Skovgaard / Aegyoknit
Karoline Skovgaard is a self-taught knitwear designer with a master’s degree in Comparative Literature. Her work is guided by a love of texture, poetry, and quiet emotion — where Scandinavian simplicity meets gentle echoes from another home, found in her family’s Korean roots.
She never planned to become a knitwear designer — her path was meant to stay in the world of words. But somewhere between poetry and wool, something began to take shape.
Aegyoknit was born from that meeting point — where stories, textures, and emotions intertwine. With her background in literature, Karoline is drawn to the poetry of making: the rhythm of stitches, the softness of yarn, the way a design can hold a feeling.
Her work often begins not with a pattern, but with a mood — a colour, a line, a quiet sense of longing. It’s Scandinavian at heart, yet carries whispers from another home too — one of warmth, light, and gentle detail.
